About us

The people behind
Deák Udvarház

Here is a magical wood, and in the middle of it an enchanting, elegant venue with a lake and an intimate manor — a place that makes the dreams of couples in love come true through all four seasons.

Since 2015

The family's story

Deák Udvarház opened in May 2015, and the Deák family has run it ever since. Several generations work together so that the big days turn out perfectly.

Each of us came from a different profession — teaching, building, hospitality, fashion design — but the passion for hosting was always what we had in common.

Together with our colleagues we keep striving for the highest standard and for quality. Our everyday work and the constant presence of the family are among the keys to what we have achieved.

This business is our life, our home and our future — we still want to be doing this in ten or twenty years. The best advertisement is a recommendation: at every wedding we work so that guests leave meaning to come back, and to recommend us.

Your wedding matters as much to us as it does to you: it happens once and it cannot be repeated. The responsibility is great, and we know that very well.

Four hectares

The story of the estate

In 2015 the family built the manor and the guesthouses around it from scratch, on land they already owned. The woodland ceremony site in our own acacia grove was finished in 2020.

The estate lies 30 kilometres from Budapest, along the M5 motorway, next to Kakucs, on four hectares. Woodland that goes on and on, a lake in the yard, a garden covered in flowers — no fences, with the meadow open in front of you.

The main building is in the style of a manor house: it recalls the world of the old landed gentry and gives off the warmth of a home with its intimate spaces, antique furniture, rustic brick walls and decorated columns. It is not a hall, not a hangar.

Beside the manor house three separate buildings await the guests; the accommodation is 18 rooms and 62 beds in all, in four buildings counting the upper floor of the manor. There are four ceremony sites on the estate: you can hold the ceremony in the woods, by the lake, on the meadow or indoors.

Here you can hide from the world and arrive on an island of calm — the fairy-tale manor tucked away in the middle of the woods.

Four things

What makes this place different?

This is our home

We run it as a family business, and we are here on the big days too. A member of the family is present at every event.

No neighbours

The four-hectare estate sits in the middle of the woods — you can celebrate until dawn, with no noise limit and no neighbours.

One wedding a day

We keep the place private for the intimate moments. On any one day the venue is home to a single couple, exclusively.

We light the ovens

For every wedding we fire up the outdoor ovens, and the food is baked in them: the pogácsa (Hungarian savoury scones), the meats, the cabbage and all the many good things besides.

The family

Several generations, one passion

Each of us came from a different profession — teaching, building, hospitality, fashion design. What we have always had in common: a love of hosting.

Deák Ildikó

Owner

She dreamed up this place and she runs it. After thirty-four years in teaching — including leading the local primary school — her passions today are folk crafts and oven-baked food. Every square metre of the estate carries her taste: the decoration, the lace, the porcelain, the garden, the rooms and the halls.

Deák Ferenc

Oven master and builder

He built the buildings here, and the constant improvements are his work too. For twenty-five years his hobbies have been the wood-fired oven, traditional country cooking and fishing. Oven-baked csülök (pork knuckle), cauldron and game dishes and halászlé (Hungarian fisherman's soup) are his specialities — he bakes alongside the chefs himself. It is a real science: all three ovens have a soul of their own.

Deák Bence

Chef and wedding coordinator

He trained at the Gundel Károly vocational school and went on to the Culinary Institute of Europe. He leads the modern side of the kitchen and creates the designer platings and the bespoke menus. He learned his craft in several well-known Budapest restaurants — the colours he brought back from there sit beside the homely, traditional dishes. Alongside his passion for the kitchen he is also a qualified wedding planner, and he helps couples prepare for the big day.

Deák Tünde Olívia

Marketing

She created the visual identity of the estate. She holds a fashion design degree from Mod'art International Hungary and a textile design degree from the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design.

Kohári Csaba

Owner, finance director

He trained at the Gundel Károly vocational school and began his career at the Astoria Hotel. He runs the finances of the estate and leads the grant applications and the building works. With several decades in hospitality behind him, he watches over the standard of service the guests receive.

The people you will meet

Kárpáti Nikolett

Wedding contact — finances

She has worked at the estate since 2018, qualified in event management and in economics. Day to day, she keeps the weddings organised and looks after their finances.

Vinczéné Márton Erika

Wedding contact

With many years of office management behind her, she handles the official paperwork and keeps in touch with the couples. Her work behind the scenes is what makes the wedding day run smoothly.

Fajth Ádám

Sales and coordination

He has been part of the team since 2019. A trained barista, he treats you to coffee specialities, and he is the one who shows couples around the estate — point by point, in English too if you like.

Szilágyi Kinga

Coordination

At every wedding we work with a settled team of 20–30 people.

How we live

Our everyday life — the wood-fired oven, the garden, the preparations — on our social channels.

Planning

You will not be left alone with the planning

When you sign with us, you get more than a venue. Three wedding coordinators on our team and eleven seasons of experience are there for you — from the day you sign to the end of the big day.

The Deák Udvarház team on the estate

We see it through with you

Every couple who signs with us gets full support with the planning: we hand over our own guides, and we go through with you what is worth arranging and when.

Suppliers we have tested

You do not have to start the search from scratch. For years we have worked with the same trusted partners — photographer, videographer, band, master of ceremonies, decorator, pastry chef — and we recommend them to couples who have signed, matched to what you want. They know the estate: they know where the light falls at sunset, and when to set off for the lakeside.

One team, beside you

From the first idea of your wedding to the day itself we stand beside you as one team: we help the planning with advice and with our experience — you only have to ask, we are here.
